Everything you want to know about working with WORKS by JD — from how much projects cost to what the 7-Year Warranty actually covers.
Project costs vary significantly based on scope, materials, and structural complexity. As a general guide: kitchen renovations range from $40K–$150K+; bathroom renovations $25K–$120K+; full-house remodels $200K–$700K+. We provide a detailed itemized proposal after the initial consultation and site assessment — no "ballpark" guesses before we understand your project.
Our proposals are fixed-scope and include all labor, project management, permits, inspections, disposal, and the materials or material allowances specified in the scope. We don't pad numbers or leave gray areas — what's in the proposal is what the project costs.
We work with several lending partners to offer construction financing. Options include home equity lines, construction loans, and personal home improvement financing through GreenSky. Ask about financing options during your consultation.
Change orders happen on every remodeling project — scope changes, material upgrades, discoveries behind walls. Every change order at WORKS is documented in the Client Portal with a clear cost and timeline impact before work proceeds. We never do work without your written approval of the associated cost. No surprises.
Typical timelines: bathroom renovations 8–14 weeks; kitchen renovations 10–18 weeks; full-house remodels 8–18 months. We provide a detailed project schedule at proposal stage and track it weekly through the Client Portal. On-time delivery is a metric we hold ourselves to.
Design-Build means a single company is responsible for both the design and the construction. You work with us through the design phase — floor plans, material selection, 3D renderings — and then we execute the build with the exact same team. There's no handoff, no conflict between your architect and your GC, and no excuses about "that's not what was in the drawings." One team, one contract, one responsible party: WORKS by JD.
Yes — entirely. We pull all required permits, manage the inspection schedule, coordinate with the building department, and deliver the certificate of occupancy to you at project end. You don't call the town hall. You don't schedule inspections. You don't manage any of that paperwork. We do it all.
Every WORKS client gets access to the Client Portal — an online dashboard where you can view daily photo updates from the job site, the current project schedule, pending decisions and material sign-offs, all project documents, and message your project manager directly. You know exactly where your project stands every single day — without needing to call or visit.
Our 7-Year Workmanship Warranty covers all WORKS-provided labor and installation for seven years from project completion. This includes: structural work, tile installation, cabinetry installation, trim and finish carpentry, plumbing and electrical installation, flooring installation, and all other trade work performed by our team. It does not cover product manufacturer defects (those are covered by separate manufacturer warranties which we register for you) or damage caused by homeowner negligence or natural disaster. Full warranty terms are documented and provided at project close.

We manage access with a key lockbox or access code and keep the job site clean, secured, and respectful of your home at all times. You'll see daily photo updates in the Portal and can reach your PM any time — but you never need to be present unless you want to be.
